Spencer Project
In this research project, we study schooling and labor market transitions in Cameroon at a time of high unemployment. One area of interest is how college graduates (compared to less educated workers) fare in such a tight labor market, and how families adjust decisions about schooling and employment. The project involves following a large national sample of families previously interviewed in 1998/9. It also will involve tracking recent college graduates and interviewing high school students. Interviewers will use a variety of data collection methods including life-history calendars, standard questionnaires, and focus group discussions.

Cornell in Cameroon
Building on current projects, we plan to create opportunities for Cornell graduate and undergraduate students to conduct independent research in Cameroon. The planned activities might be conducted under the auspices of Cornell Abroad or in collaboration with a Cameroon University.
